Vintage Sony TC-5550-2 | TC-510-2 Portable Tape Recorder with NOS Scotch Tape

Up for sale is the rare, vintage Sony TC-5550-2 portable reel to reel tape recorder.  This is the Japanese market version of the TC-510-2.
Cosmetically, the recorder is in good condition with scratches on the rear corners, the bottom of the case and the dust cover.  There are some oxidation on the two dust cover hinges as well as some of the rear screws (see pics #8 and 9).  The front of the recorder is clean.
The recorder has been tested for FF, REW, playback and record (tested with line-in).  Everything is in working order except for
RECORD
function.
It will record, however, the switch, once turned to REC, MUST be pushed in manually for recording to work as the part of the switch that held it in position when switched to REC seems to be broken.
Also, some of the switches are scratchy when used, especially the "Source/Tape" switch to the left of the counter and must be cleaned.  Overall, this recorder could use a good service to get it back to good working condition.
A New Old Stock (NOS) 5 inch Scotch tape is included with the recorder.
