    Description

This is the Lincoln L-4315 reel to reel tape recorder made by Allied Radio in Japan.  I believe it was manufactured in the early 60s, as the included tapes (photo 11) are marked with recordings made in 1966
The recorder is in very nice cosmetic condition except for the strange rotation marks in the plastic on the left side shown in photos 1 and 2.  The battery compartment (takes 4 C batteries, not included) is clean, and the inside electronics looks very clean as well.  No external AC adapter, but does work with the C batteries
Operationally, the Rewind and Fast Forward works, but Play is very intermittent to no op.  It will start to play, then after a few seconds it stops.  I did try one of the included, very old tapes, and the audio seemed to work for a few seconds before it stopped.  Could not test Record as the tape will not advance as in Play mode
Do not know if this is belt problem or electronic problem as I cannot see the tape drive mechanism without taking the whole thing apart which I did not want to do.
    Includes original Allied Radio box
Be sure to "mouse over" the 12 photos for full details
Note that this is sold AS IS and there is NO RETURN on this vintage item because of its stated operational problems
