Gentlemen, meet Black Betty.
Betty doesn’t look like much on the outside, but beneath that polymer receiver there is a tigress trying to claw her way out.
I took a rather plain, ho-hum kind of polymer starter gun from CYMA, and I upgraded it to be something special.
Now, Cyma is known for making a good AK, but there are some things that they just don’t take the time to get right in their basic guns. Take the air seal, for starters. When your piston slams forward, it compresses the air that shoots the BB. But if there is air leaking out around the piston, cylinder head, or wherever, you won’t get as much power as you could. What’s worse, you never get the *same* amount of air when you shoot. It’s random, and that sends your BBs all over the place.
I knew I could do better.
So I upgraded the following parts in the gear box:
-Lonex POM piston head
-SHS Cylinder head
-POM O-ring nozzle
-G&G Basilisk High Torque Motor
-Jefftron MOSFET
Now, it gets 100% air seal, every time.
But that’s not all. The stock barrel you get with the gun has a lot of imperfections in it-they don’t look like much, but those random little bumps inside the barrel will send the BB skittering in random ways, which makes your BB spin out into random directions.
So, I replaced the barrel with a Mad Bull Black Python tightbore barrel. And, I married that with a Maple Leaf bucking and a Lonex HopUp unit. This means that the BB will get the right amount of backspin, and has a nice, slippery barrel for that BB to travel down and out into the world, in the same fashion, time after time.
So-that’s over 5 or more in upgrade parts.
And of course, I just can’t help myself but try to tune the gearbox with precise shimming to make the gears work in the most efficient way possible, and transfer the power from the high torque motor to the piston with as little friction as possible. This leads to durability and longevity of your drive train.
The gun also features a ball-bearing spring guide, (and another one in the piston head), so the spring expands exactly the same every time, shot after shot.

What I’ve done is made this gun *consistent*. Because accuracy is a product of consistency-doing the same thing in the same way, every time, to get the same results, every time.
