Professionally refurbished Pioneer RT-909 auto reverse open reel tape player / recorder. All functions tested and passed, expected to reliably perform in original spec. No significant cosmetic issues, with only trivial marking on underside of head cover. Sale includes 10.5" hub adapters.
This example is one of the very finest we have seen, with the technician deeming it superior in performance and cosmetic appearance to his own personal unit. It appears to have been used very sparingly, with several user adjustable internal controls set far beyond normal parameters, and old rubber consumable parts allowed to badly decompose. A thorough cleaning and professional adjustment revealed an absolutely superb unit, showing very little use and almost no wear.
Notes from the technician:
New pinch rollers and belt, remove and clean out old melted rubber residue

Exceptionally wide frequency range of 20Hz to 28kHz (± 3dB). Wow / flutter of 0.04% or better, with both specifications measured at the 7.5 ips tape speed.
Mixes microphone inputs and line inputs, another advanced. Allows instant comparison between the tape and the original, as well as azimuth adjustments of the heads.
Open-reel format offers more overall performance in terms of dynamic range, distortion and noise than the best of cassette formats.
