  • Condition: Both of these items in the set are used but in good condition. The glass bowl shows wear on the base with minor scratches visible. The glass is clear but there are about 3 small bubbles visible. The largest bubble is about the size of a pin head (see photo and tape noting the location.) There are two other visible bubbles approx. 1/5 the size of a pin head. None of the bubbles can be felt from either surface of the glass. The kenzan (spikey frog) is used and shows wear on the metal tines. The plastic base shows wear and scratches that one would expect from use as an ikebana tool. Zoom in to the photos to get a feel for the quality of these items.

    Description

    This set includes a gracefully curving glass bowl and plastic kenzan (ikebana spikey frog) to hold cut flowers and stems in position.
    The glass bowl is a beautiful piece of glass. It is a deep amber color and made of thick glass. It weighs 2lbs 2 oz. Its overall dimension is 10 1/2 inches long by 8 inches wide. The low part of the rim rises approx. 2 5/8 inches from the table top, the opposite side rises approx. 4 inches from the table top. The remaining two sides are approx. 2 1/8 inches from the table top. Along the rim, the glass is approx. 7/16 inch thick. Inside the bowl, the base is slightly convex with the thickest part approx. 3/4 inch thick. Zoom in to the photos to appreciate the clarity of the glass and its graceful lines.
    The kenzan or spikey flower frog is used and does show its age. It is still functional with no missing or loose tines (several of the tines are bent-see photo) The base is made of plastic to avoid damaging your glassware or pottery. The base is approximately 5/8 inch thick with approx. 1/2 inch metal tines on top of that. Its diameter is approx. 3 1/4 inches across.
