Description

Large HICKOK brand antique cast iron book press. Platen measures 16" x 26" and is 32" tall. Large well greased steel screw offers 12" of daylight. Screw operates freely and easily by large circular handle.
This press is in good working order. It has two weld marks on the upper frame from its former life in a commercial bindery that do not affect its function. There is a beautiful "Hickok" brand seal with patent and item numbers on the upper center of the frame.
Press can be used for bookbinding, printmaking, papermaking, restraint drying or as a large plant press...or anything else you can think up.
The press is crated on a pallet and can easily be moved by a pallet jack. This item is for local pick up in La Mesa, CA or freight shipping can be arranged by the buyer at their own expense. If the buyer arranges their own freight pick up, the seller will prepare the shipment by strapping the press to the pallet and shrink wrapping it for easy moving. Pallet and press together weigh approximately 400 lbs. Press can be disassembled by the buyer for moving or lifted and moved by 4 strong people.
Press is residential with driveway access.
