Description
The face of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall is on the front of this note. It is a 1891 Treasury note with the open back as opposed to the ornate back on the 1890 version. Type collectors can stop right here because this gem uncirculated note fits perfectly into a type collection or an advanced collection of Treasury notes. An amazing note with great color and embossing. PMG has graded this note Gem Uncirculated 65. Technically, every 65 is a 65EPQ, but this was graded in the early days of PMG before they started putting EPQ on notes. There is a comment about an "as made paper defect on the right margin" which they would not bother to mention in the modern era of grading. You don't have to trust me for the grade of the note, you only have to trust PMG.
